The Roman Villa at Boscoreale

April 2008 - September 2011

King's Visualisation Lab have produced a beautiful, detailed and accurate three-dimensional computer model of the known architecture and décor of the Roman Villa at Boscoreale. The project has contributed to our knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Villa and related elements of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection by visually reuniting the Villa’s frescoes and mosaics, dispersed across the globe since their auction in Paris in 1903, by restoring them to their original architectural settings.

The resultant 3D visualisations created by KVL are featured in spring edition of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Bulletin - The Frescoes from the Roman Villa of P. Fannius Synistor at Boscoreale: A New View (Metropolitan Museum of Art)
